We know you would adopt them all if you could.

But sometimes, caring for a dog with special behavioral needs, is too much for even the biggest heart. How can you help?

ASHTON

When we pulled Ashton over a year ago, he was skinny and honestly, probably pretty broken down. After over a year in our care, he’s changed a lot from the boy that we pulled. He’s bubbly, affectionate with people, and beefy as ever. On the other end of the spectrum, he’s also shown us that he’s anxious outside the home, reactive when he sees other dogs on walks, and would prefer to be a solo dog.

We have enlisted the assistance of a veterinary behaviorist to help get him on a treatment plan for his anxiety, are working with a trainer (thanks Sam!) to give his foster and us the tools to work on his reactivity and to help him feel more comfortable in his own body, he’s received top notch vet care (including monthly allergy medication), and pay for boarding when his foster travels because we have not had another foster able to take him in. We will always get every dog the care they need, but after 13 months in our care, the bill is adding up and if we want to continue this level of care, we need sponsors for Ashton. It’s a tough pill to swallow but it’s the truth. As a small rescue, we don’t have the deep pockets that the big guns may have.  Can you help with the additional cost of his treatment?

CLOVER

Clover has been with us for 7 months and she won the hearts of volunteers at the shelter. She’s super smart, eager to please, playful, and so affectionate. But from day 1, Clover has presented a bit of a conundrum. Housetraining just hasn’t stuck with her and she’s exhibited pretty severe separation anxiety. Sometimes she can hold it and other times, she will go right next to you after being outside for a long while. She’s also working on her big feelings when she sees or even hears other dogs. Again, we enlisted the help of a veterinary behaviorist and a trainer (thanks again, Sam!). We anticipate needing to continue to work with Clover for a couple more months before she’s truly adoptable. We see her getting to the one year mark with us as well, and we really need sponsors to step up to help us afford her care too. Can you help with the cost of Clover’s treatment?

BEA

Bea received her freedom ride from the PG county shelter in February 2024. She has grown leaps and bounds from an initial nervous girl; to someone who looks at her handler with confidence! Bea is a smarty pants and lovesss to please.

Bea has made this incredible progress thanks to the help of a veterinary behaviorist, trainer, and very committed foster. She’s on daily anxiety medication to help her be the best version of herself (which is totally normal) and after many months, the costs are adding up.

It’s truly remarkable what Bea and her foster have accomplished together to prepare Bea for her family!

However, while Bea waits for her home, she could use a sponsor. Can you help with her monthly expenses?
